It is a plot to control food production and establish a new world order. At least according to Jazz and his buddies.

Maybe you didnt notice the title of the thread, more auction madness. Whats driving up the prices. Has steel and iron gone up 10x in the past 20 yrs. Nope, has labour increased 10x. Nope and I see made in china on some parts on my combine now.

Lease flips, stuffing useless technology and other issues I wont mention are the driver of this. Farmers are our own worst enemy sometimes.

Higher prices on new just encourage elevated prices on used. Thats econ 101.

Dont you want younger people to get into this business. Its filled with 55 yr olds who will have to gift their operation to the next generation.

High auction prices means our current iron has the same or higher price than we paid.so using it will be free in the end when sold.

Just like the rest of the world is pushing N. American to commit economic suicide, Justin has taken the same global warming BS and is pushing the oil provinces to the precipice.

True but that’s a double edged sword in the end.

We also discount the new auction styles. Online bidding. Pre auction bidding. US farmers having a hey day up here with the exchange rate.

Look at the move in prices in the last 3 generations of combine. Fairly orderly you could stretch your self a little to get a bigger machine and not think too much about it.

Now this generation of machine demands a 100% markup. It’s insane.

Pls explain it to me like I am 4 yrs old.
I have been looking for S780’s and have not seen any for $300k, let alone low houred ones. PM me where to find them, I am looking.

From economics though, if a S780 is $600k used and X9 is 1 mil used and the X9 does 1.5x more per hour and only needs 1 header and 1 operator, then the X9 appears to make economic sense to me.

                          Is the X9 1.5 times a 780, or 790.
                          Or even a red 9250?
                          Just wondering..

Every new series of combine is so many percent bigger than the previous combine. If you added all those up going back to the earliest machines, would it add up? Or would it be like seed varieties where every new variety is 10% more than the check which was 10% more than the check before that which was 10% more and on and on and on. Yet producers from decades ago were getting yields greater than today's?
