Canola,,, not keeping pace with soyoil.

Have been noticing some big moves higher in the JAN Soyoil but not canola, so just making a comparison of JAN Soyoil v. JAN Canola.

Since Oct 3rd, JAN Canola moving sideways in a $18/t trading range.

JAN Soyoil has increased an additional 15% since Oct3rd, Canola is unchanged.

        Imagine, what if...
The canola growers organized and built their own crush facilities.

Then they would fight and sell it

Imagine what would (or could?) happen if farmers could get together and market, transport and sell to the world our grain production that is in demand right now and always needed.

Imagine if we could do this with a farmer owned AND ONLY FARMER OWNED operation that was never bought out infiltrated or corrupted by those already in the grain trade wishing to keep their market share!!

I believe eventually the grain shipping and grain handling facilities would quite likely be on sale for quite a discount because they would be idle.

Quite a departure from conventional ways of business but it could be possible. Would require farmers to unite in a common cause. Is this possible is the question???

In the states there are lots of farmer owned grain and input facilities , ethanol plants, feed mills ,etc. In a country that everyone thinks is so open market minded they are a way more cooperative thinking than in Canada . Mind you it’s not a race down there to see who can be the biggest like here, still lots of small to medium size farms . That would explain the incentive to work together rather than against each other .

I am finding this to be true as well. There are still dairy coops in the US as well. Would like to be able relocate to the US as the smaller and medium size farms are more common there than here now.

Well that ratio just got a whole lot worse again today. With soy oil up either side of $2, and canola mostly down or flat.
                      Any news to accompany that?

CDN dollar up 1.8% would explain part of it but not all.

How much would the +$4.50 WTI Crude and the diesel fuel shortage effect it?

Have to think they will be blending all they can in some states that use more than Canada?

Also Europe is a big blender.
