I get headaches before every Chinook all winter. Never in the summer of course.
But I will still choose that over never getting above zero for 4 or 5 months straight. We rarely go more than a week.

We never feel the effects of chinooks but I am sure they would be a nice diversion from endless -30 that we seem to get trapped in. Likely with the wind they come in with they don’t feel overly warm.

Rare to see a chinook here, but it does happen from time to time. More likely to get an Alberta Clipper. They often bring warmer temps but the accompanying blizzard is not usually welcome. Even rarer than a chinook is any kids at Halloween out on the farm. Still chuckle when I think of Leonardo dicaprio seeing his first chinook and declaring it to be proof of global warming.

Yes 6-8 weeks of -30-40 deep in the swamp wears a man down

You're not an hour away from Calgary or Edmonton.
