    Went to Agri Trade yesterday

It is only a 40 minute drive for me so I am fairly lucky. What interested me was this.
Looked at the X9. Complicated machine. Many many belts. I wasn’t impressed that chaff and straw both go through the chopper. I have always preferred separate streams. Didn’t look like much fun to work on.
Talked to Murray at the Mad concaves booth. Quite a character.
Versatile had a high horsepower mfwd tractor with big rubber that looked like fun.
My son wouldn’t let me stop at the Basf booth, I wanted to discuss their new fungicide I tried Sphaerex. It was supposed to suppress ergot. Coincidentally the 3 fields I used it on(160 acres total) had the highest level of ergot. Wasn’t impressed.
Looked at the Case combine, really not many changes from my 8230. Improvements to the feederhouse and of course automation. Nothing really to justify the price.
New Macdon Fd2, nice header, just to expensive for me.
Overall it was a fun afternoon with my Son and his family.

The chaff and the straw goes through the chopper on all the s series as well has forever.
Your son just didn't want you getting into a fist fight amazed the BASF crew had the balls to show up without riot gear on after the issues their products caused in 2022

Lol the only John Deere S series I ever ran was a 9760 and that was back in 2007. I had forgot the chaff went through the chopper.

        Always good to go.
I just need my signing authority revoked lol.
The older I get, the quicker I get through it. Funny how the spiels sound repetitive after enough decades. Still takes me 8 hours.
I do believe that a twin rotor system is the key in the future and that a big single rotor for small grains has gone almost as far as it can. Automation of course is the next level of advancement. Amazing to watch it in action.
