Same here
Snow appeared to be deep and the piles in the yard are substantial.
One day of +6 and big bare patches and stubble showing everywhere.
No snow since Christmas so I guess that old snow did not hold much water.

That and the heavy winds over the last few days would have evaporated a lot of the snow as it melted

Never seems to matter how dry it is in the fall here billions of gallons just flow to the sea.
Ground was very dry last fall with big cracks.
Maybe about 18-20 inches of snow that should translate into an inch and a half to two inches of water.
Dry in the summer that much water would never run. Frozen ground makes the difference.

Surprised to see the river running here.
Is the Carrot flooding there?
I farm where the Leather joins the Carrot and the Leather comes from the south and gets roaring first so it backs up the Carrot at the start of runoff. In a few days the Leather will slow down a bit and the Carrot will get going. If you go east of here the Carrot will be flowing strong because it has the Leather’s water.
I was at the rivers tonight for a look and the Carrot up and flowing but very tranquil.

It's the mighty White Fox.
Have to look closely to see it is flowing.Last edited by shtferbrains; Apr 14, 2023, 22:54.
