Just like the used oil deal.
Went from getting paid for it when they picked it up to he would come and get it but could not pay anything for it to now I have to pay for him to pick it up.
The spot behind the shop where oil got dumped for a generation grows grass and trees just fine.

Imperial Oil "remediated" all their abandoned bulk stations by putting a chain link fence around them and forgetting about them. The few I've paid attention to appear to be nicely reverting to prairie grasses. Unfortunately for the bureaucrats that solution doesn't offer much opportunity for $150,000 annual salaries to manage the situation.

All to solve a non-existent problem

If you took into account the amount of fuel used, labour, vehicles, sorting, processing of recycling the cost would astronomical. Big trucks driving from village to village and cross-country picking up recycle paper, that probably goes to the dump anyway. Another, “green†big idea!
