Be a couple day halt on seeding here in parts of the SE. Got a couple good showers, a real light show and a tornado warning to boot.

We finished on Wednesday. Really only one story here, very dry. The odd spotty shower has certainly helped out some. Pastures going backwards for the most part. Crops are coming up. Anything around here that was vertical tilled is showing very poor germ. Fortunately I don’t own one so I am never tempted. Hilly land southeast of me has some black hilltops. Really only rain will solve the problem.

Another shot last night .. 4 tenths. These last 2000 ac are going to test my patience.

Really getting dry. I’ve never seen alfalfa bloom in May at 4 inches tall here. Haven’t seen this pasture since Tuesday when we kicked some heifers out and it looks stalled out and a lighter shade of green now. Lots of leaf hoppers and some tiny grasshoppers coming too.

Still seeding and trying to get that wrapped up hopefully in a few days barring any more equipment issues. Definitely had enough of those already this year…….. Then on to branding and moving out pairs. Looking forward to trying out the new tipping table on the calves. Should take some of the ache out of a few usually long hard days.

A friend sold some cull cows and averaged $1.53 which is quite the change from a buck that I got and was happy with in January

At least it’s not so smokey anymore. Beautiful sunsets from it though.

Yup seen it many times .
Just gotta go when Mother Nature allows , the day of the week means nothing .
See too many weekend warriors miss perfect spraying timing and conditions to be at lake , only to home Monday and giver in 50K winds .
