We are coming up to the 3/4 mark getting the crop in. Caught some beauty rains over the last week, dried up enough today that we are back at it. Between the large snowfall and the rain events we are sitting very nice indeed.

Neighbors place pretty much right where the tornado was spotted. Could have been a plough wind too.

I think that shed was 200ft long.

Fleas started again , 2 nd cycle , should not be an issue at all here . 90% dead fleas from treatment already . It’s actually nice to see when canola not struggling from frost ……… so far

Every single beetle dead at touch ,
Seed treatments actually work when conditions are not adverse .
Adverse conditions, way to dry , frost … virtually useless …. Just a fact

If we were dry , like normal, or had a touch of frost , like normal…….. there would be beetle juice and Alpine in the tank asap

98% of the agronomists would disagree when it comes to that situation with a frost or dry conditions, but they all are wrong .
They need to eat to die , but a struggling canola plant will die .

We are fortunate at this point with a few rains not to worry yet ….

At this point here , with decent conditions, not worried at all , true leaf will be virtually untouched.

Buteo and trueflex. Both good tools for “adverse” conditions…

We tried something different this year, we seeded the 2 outside rounds with Buteo on most of our fields and the rest with Helix/Lumiderm. Maybe the Helix will be a better replacement for Prosper, only time will tell. This is one of the few years that growing conditions for canola haven’t been affected by frost, low temperatures or dry conditions, let’s keep our fingers crossed.

                          Some farmers are assholes!
Came off his field on to my emerging canola in attempt to get rid of his water.
I am not against drainage but for god sakes do it in the fall!
