Wheat heading at 47 days and 11” high in the swamp where moisture is good according to the experts , this can’t be good ?
Gotta feel sorry for the manipulator users ?
What were they thinking ? Maybe want 6” high wheat ?
That’s pretty good looking wheat Case. I would give it a shot. At least a quarter just to try. We do it every year and don’t let us down.

If too dry its a yield hit, but if it prevents lodging worth every penny. Anyone know where to get a set of crytal balls?

Between the showers so far . Canola bolting
        The 80% of 15 mill.
        Forecast Had better happen tomorrow.
Or it will get ugly. Not like you have to go more than a mile or two to 1 to 1 1/2 inch ahead.
        Just rain dam It.

Very spotty showers , rain needed soon or crop insurance will be very busy.

One extreme to the other here.
We were probably record dry for this time of year. Which on most of my ground, is perfect conditions.
Now 3.5 inches of rain later, with a few days of rain still in the forecast, at least the hay and pasture is happy.

I can't believe how fast the crops grew with all the heat, and no stress from excess water. Normally canola cotyledons seem to just stand still for what seems like weeks, in cold wet conditions, while flea beetles eat faster than they can grow. This year, growth just exploded and never slowed down. Trying to time manipulator on wheat, and the window is incredibly short when it grows this fast.

Off to the best start I can remember. Depending on how many more inches of rain we get this week, that is subject to change. I was really looking forward to a drought after last years foot of rain at this time of year.
Spraying has been a pleasure( till now). No ruts, not getting rained out, very low weed pressure, except for the volunteers from two consecutive years of September hail storms.

In our travels between Edmonton and Calgary, there was definitely some crops suffering. Very spotty emergence, some canola bolting/ flowering but you could still see the bare dirt. Might be too late for early seeded cereals. Hay and pasture look pitiful in a big area.

Haven't had any measurable precipitation in about 3 weeks. Crops still look okay for the most part but them big hills are starting to yellow. Could use a rain any minute!

Managed to hook 6/10’s so far last night and into today. Still raining off and on. Things were starting to burn up pretty bad. Definitely a crop saver. Will try send some your way!

Flea Beetle, whatever you did seemed to work! 9/10 last evening. It was a very wide spread system. I hope everyone got a little piece of that pie.

Turned very dry here as well after that first flush of thunderstorms a month ago. Did a complete 180 from what usually happens here, hard clay dried out to crumbs and roots don’t want to go down. So have drown outs and dried out spots in the same year. Just never know what’s going to happen.
