Around here crop ins would say we will come out in one week to look at that cus it might come back

U live in SK? cause SCIC wouldn’t even come look at it…..Absolutely zero reason to on their end now that its past the seeding deadline.

heck hail ins companies wouldn’t touch that for at least a month. It will come back but question always is, will it be better or worse.

Ya , I would put bets on table there is zero chance on some of the bad hit areas here .
Yes some may come back , been there seen it . But also know when it’s that bad , there is zero chance and leaving it will result in a weed infestation that will cost tens of thousands over the next 5 years . Literally no crop insurance person understands or cares about that though but it’s a fact that happens
Much like drought stricken crops that get a lot of rain after the damage is done . Turns into a Weed nightmare you can’t control and will haunt you for several years .

In 2020 they wrote all our canola off July 20th about storm was the second
Cereals weren’t headed but mowed to the ground
Barley and oats came back and made 70-80 good quality , about 2 weeks late
I think if we would of fertilized them a bit wouldn’t of lost anything , but not practical when you’re already late

Ouch. Too late for it to save itself in time for a decent result. If it was a couple weeks ago I’d say let it buck but now I don’t think so.

Was exactly the same for most of us in 2021 , big rallies with no crop . But no one gave a crap about 80% of western Canada that had nearly no crop to sell . All anyone could do was demonize farmers about high prices when it did not matter to the vast majority of us
