I could buy it , and re sell it . Feed will be in big demand all over .
But need to watch the finances now , crop is dried out and going backwards, so hopefully the markets continues to rally to make up some of the difference much like hay prices when feed is short .

Hopefully Trudeau is not around in a year and he slinks away to some UN position far away .

It’s not going to matter if there’s no crop to be had.

We miss this rain we are in trouble.

The vegetative maps probably paint a pretty picture.

Glad I’m not one paying big rent and bought new shiny equipment.

I know for a fact there are some buying out contracts already.

Most are re-tweeking their hail dance.

They said farming would be fun ……..

Heading out with hail adjusters this morning, finally from the big June 25 storm . Will be an interesting day. Some has regrown but it may not matter in 10 days without rain . Will know on the first few fields how things will shake down
          Got 12 1/4’s to do

Glad we documented everything with dates and pictures

They will defer like they always do. There’s time yet for it to come back they will say. Anyway not to pay, but they won’t their premiums.

You likely haven’t seen a school teacher for a while. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

            Good luck!!

Hope you have some cold ones after they leave.

Maybe better have a few snorts or a stoke or two to calm your nerves. Might be good to have a witness recording the process. Last time I went with a hail adjuster, I thought my head would blow off. The school teacher with Canadian was great before the company with starting with an Mu. That was the last time I ever want to do that. We got a lady from Elfros, I think she had a big hate on for farmers. No more double- premium for lentils for me. What a joke! There should be a hail commission like the grain commission used to be that mediated ridiculous claims, now the hail companies can get away with murder.

I was able to fix a decent basis for old crop from the local crusher. Looks like they picked up my target futures. Now it's time to make a marketing plan for new crop. My 2022/23 crop average wasn't stellar, likely grossed $870/ac. I could have got $1,000 in November, which was my plan, but failed to execute. $870 is likely an all time high so can't complain too hard.

See what USDA has to say tomorrow and if anyone in North America gets rain over the next two weeks. We have potential for a 70% of normal if we get a few more rains.

We pulled the trigger on most of the last we had yesterday around noon .
Will not pre sell anything this year , crop is losing bushels everyday , so don’t care now . Will get what we get at harvest and deal with what we have later . I see very very little downside in canola for the next 6 months

Sold 2/3 of my wheat last week and bought a bunch of calls, right or wrong I don't know at this point. Still have 50% of my canola to sell but have a long way to go to get to last falls prices. Crop here is hitting the wall, only thing saving us now is the cooler temps. Oats still looking not bad, barley really taking it hard. Canola yields will be half of last year if we manage to get a rain, otherwise filling will be hard. Wheat at this point could make 60% of last years with some rain to fill.

Nothing for rain until we get 7 days out in our forecast, seems like rain is always 7 days away this year. With most places not seen any rain in their 7-day forecast it just a matter of time before canola breaks 800, hopefully wheat and the other grains will follow.

                        Looks Political…

Black Oil at $75/B is undergirding the market for now… as is the July 17 Russian Black Sea Agreement…

US corn crop in the I states is early… this round of rain will finish most of the corn crop half decent… no US 2012 drought… this year…

Oil and US Biofuel policy is very important to corn prices especially…

                        Blessings and Prayers for rain!
