Will not matter in 5-7 days here , already showing in later seeded crops
Later seed crops could be worse cause they had zero chance to even fill . Seen it
But also seen it the other way where later crops hang on long enough to be good .
Or early seeded crops are by far better cause they fill before mid July to August heat / dry burns things out
Ahhhhh , farming soooo easy 🫣.
It’s a lottery , no different than Vegas

I took a tour yesterday with my Pioneer rep to look at fields of canola in my area as well as some test plots. Certainly a great variance in canola stands from really good to fields where 1/3 of the crop didn’t come up but is starting to grow now. Personally I was impressed with a plot of Pioneer 510(can’t remember the full name). A optimum gly variety with sclerotinia resistance. A couple of neighbours have nice crops of Proven 781. Also Invigor 345 PC. Was surprised lots of blanks on the stems of earlier seeded canola. Below is a picture of my Pioneer L516.

Here I thought I had my phone turned the right way so the picture would be the right way around. This tells me the camera button has to be on my left not my right. Better luck next time I guess.

Drove up to Ferintosh on the weekend. Lots of absolutely terrible crop in the special areas. Then hit and miss by Veteran. They get more consistent north of Bashaw, but still poor for them crops.

Furrowtickler we were dry 8 ft down this spring. No reserve moisture. Caught a few showers and things looked up for awhile. Now the tap has shutoff and we are hoping for hail.

I have deleted all weather apps.

Off to lake golf tourney tomorrow.

It’s always better at the lake.

Will be interesting when the hail adjusters come out in this area .
We may be wishing for more hail here shortly too.

Any one looking for farm tour routes, I recommend a direct trip to Jan Lake. Save some miles, enjoy.

It will be a very quick and early harvest

Why does anyone want to take a tour?
We all know what drought does, save your gas money put it towards something useful.

The trade should be the ones getting off their ass and seeing exactly what’s going on.
                    They already know!!
                    Keep prices at rock bottom.

I was hoping that SF would have made his crop tour 2-3 weeks ago up here .
Rain seems to follow him any where

Some say they can't take time off to go to the lake.

For me it worked kind of like a deadline to have the work done for the week.

Best part of the lake is sitting around in the morning not having to worry about work waiting for you.

For me, that would be the worst part of going to a lake. Worrying about all the productive things that should be getting done.

                              Go to the lake
There will be lots of time for work in the next life

Every one needs a break whatever that may be. Life is short, clears my mind at the campground, golf, beach. Sleep better here too. Lady likes it here too.
Yes we got all farm/yard stuff done aiming for a week away. We all need a goal.
