Speaking of inputs had fertilizer guys call and 46-00 was 550 take home in July, fall nh3 was .55/lb pay with cheque

Lower costs starting to trickle down to the farm level

No signs of a change in the fertilizer price downtrend.

28-0-0 at $350MT delivered is getting tempting. Ive seen too many fert nightmares when storing 46 over winter so won't do it.

If in a blend, it stores fine. The problems start when stored by itself.

You must be too close to the source?

Been storing a blend of 46-0-0, 11-52-0-0, 0-0-62, and 21-0-0-24 from December to seeding, and never had an issue🤷🏼

I second the no to storing an ams blend.

A lump buster fixes alot of problems.

Fertilizer bins pay for themselves over and over.

I've been storing the same blend from early winter with very little problem. The bins I use also have aeration. And it sets up just enough that you have to start it flowing by poking a long hose up into it. But once it starts flowing there are no lumps or chunks. This year I sealed up the aeration first and had no problem. I've usually emptied the bins of tough grain immediately before filling with fertilizer, so there is some high moisture material stuck to the walls which does cause some grief. But that could be avoided with better planning.
