    Help on the way.

Looks like rain is making it way east, hopefully we get a meaningful amount to help fill out what’s left of our crops. Should make AIM a little sloppy tomorrow morning, good luck to everyone on the rain lottery, I’m sure there will be winners and losers. We were forecasted for 30mm yesterday down to 10mm today.

This is a 3 day accumulated precip model. Will see how it pans out. I hope those that need rain get it.

4/10 s at unity so far .it variés. But too late to save à lot of canola. Mine at least. 80% burnt.Wilkie Scott north to North batt. . 1 1/2 2 inches ahead it will help.
Just no réserve here . Even being cool it took a kicking.
Maybe have one field that caught the showers.
        The rest are fried.

We are about in the same boat here , on the east side of the “rain belt”
Got 2/10 last night , not sure if we will get much today .
The way the rain patterns set up in June I knew we were in trouble long ago .
Most our canola burnt as well

I did have a giggle this morning
Someone asked if was enough to have moisture meet moisture
I said 2/10 does not go down 3 ft 🙄

It’s a bust here on our farm, 1/10” might get more when this system wraps around again but not holding my breath. I’m off to AIM this morning to check things out, hopefully someone benefits from this last rain.

Will you be able to salvage any of these failed crops to make cattle feed? With the shortage and the prices, I would hope that crop insurance would allow salvage operations as soon as possible.
In all of our travels, we only saw one field being swathed, and one with cattle in it. It would be a shame to see any of these crops go to waste.
Or do some areas just have no market and no equipment for doing so?

Rain won't help much here. Just grow weeds.

Rains from 2/10 to 4/10s last night. Something I guess.

Canola coming out of bloom now. So lucky it had cool weather for the past few weeks.

Won’t be more than a dust settler here by the look of it.

We received 2+ inches of rain, NE Edmonton. Some barley fields are flat. I hope they spring back up tomorrow. Canola that didn't have any problems is coming out of bloom. Some pockets are starting to bloom. Should be able to see how well the pod shatter varieties work this year.

Wheat is variable. Some fields look okay from the road, some you can still see between the rows and some have the second crop of tillers growing past the main stem. At least another month of growing to do, quite the variety pack this year.

Extremes are the norm this year. Even varies a mile away.

That “rain” was about as about as helpful as a carbon tax rebate cheque……. Far too little , far too late to do any good
