Is that kochia growing right out of a sand dune.

I am wondering if there will be a change in tone in this industry after all is said and done. I mean some guys are in multiple yrs of drought. Even some reliable areas have had drought 2 out of 3 yrs now.

Here it was that late april snowstorm that saved us. Gave us a full bank of soil moisture just before seeding and some timely rains held us in, but go 30miles west and its a different story.

Been raining nearly every day in the north Parkland from somewhere around Edmonton through the forest area between North Battleford and Meadow Lake and a bit east on that path
Will be some decent crops in the farmland areas

Sask Ag doesn’t give two rats asses what’s going on.

Only thing the government will do is blame the farmers it didn’t rain when they present their spring budget saying their was a hefty payout to the farmers from crop insurance.

They will add crop insurance coverage is the highest it’s ever been with top up to most crops. Well the premiums have been topped up quite nicely also.

If El Niño sticks around all fall and winter and into spring …. look out!!

If anyone is looking for a payout, go buy a lotto ticket, or call Monette.

We are in the red area and got 1.1 inches the last two nights out of a 30% chance. Am cringing because tonight has a 60% chance of showers. We are currently coming up to 3 inches in the past week (on top of 1.5 in the previous week) and are now starting to go backwards due to flooding. So if anyone wants to know where their rain is.

I’m assuming grain bags won’t be at a premium this harvest.
