    Hot weather ?

I don't think I will be harvesting wheat this year, it might be puffed wheat with the heat coming.

Any suggestions as to how to set the combine???

Just joking. but the heat that is coming is going to kick the shit out of the crops, even if you have subsoil moisture.

SCIC recommended I combine it as it was over the low yield , it won't be after this heat wave and sadly swathing it it won't be able to be picked up.

Only option is to silage with d****r header , don't have , or graze it but SCIC wasn't too keen on that.

Would it be accurate to say that crop insurance is the biggest impediment to having a prosperous and healthy livestock sector, and mixed farms?
Without the safety cushion of crop insurance, how many acres would be in Grass instead of grains? And over the years, how many cows could be fed on the salvage the crop insurance won't release? How many operations would have cattle as their insurance policy if they couldn't get subsidized crop insurance?
Would BTO's be viable under that scenario?

I’ll send the cows over, they will pick it up and leave some N behind.

Good idea BUT no fence and no water .

This is what is wrong with emergency reactive solutions from government.

Everyone knew there was no snow and feed stacks were short last fall. Just have to compare fall calf sales to spring sales.

The data is there that there was a problem long ago. The government chose to ignore it.

Now they are trying to look like heroes by announcing a reactive solution that isn't really functional.

Every day in the future is forecast to be hot but usually when the hot day arrives smoke blows in and then not so hot anymore.

I’ll haul the water and we can start up the open herd law in the RM. wasn’t many years ago we had an open heard law here, two miles east in the other RM they still have an open herd law, it might be handy this year if there wasn’t so much barb wire.

There has been a heat warning at home for three days , has yet to crack even 28
Looks like one , yes one day of just over 30 then cooling way off .

Pollinating corn will take a beating in the US regardless how awesome it may look
Like beautiful canola in full flower in southern Sask .
Flowers abort above 30c regardless of good soil moisture. Actually above 28c in dry soil
