Looks like some bigger ones developing in central Alberta now on radar

This Stagnant H sitting in Sk has to move E or it will never rain. DEAD calm days and nights are the indication of eye of the High.

Lots of thunder and lightning and boiling black clouds past just barely north of us. I'd rather get no rain than the Frozen kind of rain wish that type of storm likes to drop.

            Sorry misclick on the like.

Drove from Saskatoon to Regina. Crops look desiccated nearly the whole way but no chem was involved. Its a shocking site to see for the end of July. The only green I saw was kochia. This crop is going to come in way under market expectation imo. Bins are locked.

Think you can drive almost anywhere and see the same. Canola flowers are disappearing fast and peas and barley are turning in west country. Not sure about further north. But talked to a guy from Grand Prairie that said it won't be long.

Some of this late canola appears to have taken a beating in the last 2 weeks. Got into flower for about 10d and then hit with 4 days 32C and wind, not much soil reserve and now you can see right into the canopy, flowers thinning.

Nows its going to get another 4 days of the same and no rain in sight.

All the canola here is taking a beating. Early late , No subsoil, heat, grasshoppers, heat , not enough substantial rain for the crops that had as near a perfect start as a farmer could wish for.

Crops north of lacombe thru to barrhead area are pretty a ok. Some moisture stress starting to show up now. Just north of Edmonton i think we are looking at some solid numbers. Canola been blooming since Canada day and not finished. Unless we get some serious wind and warmth may * not even joking* be looking for a set of tracks for combine.
Have been shooting bottle rockets at rain clouds trying to shoo them off towards you fellas anywhere south and east of us......

We caught a shower on Saturday morning then the tail end of those storms early this morning around 3 am . Probably 3/10 or so
Will help fill but the damage is done .
Same as Bucket , we had a beauty crop coming but it ran out of gas at critical times . It would run out of moisture then get hit with 3 days heat , then a shower , then repeat, happens about 4 times since end of June .
Harvest won’t be as early as some think here as the 10% low spot areas are normal crop , the other will be dried , thinned out and ripe shortly
Will have to wait for those low areas cause unfortunately that’s where 50% of the yield will come from .
Not as bad as 2021 , but close , maybe 10-15% better . Will be 50% below last year still

                        Same here Tom,

we were forecast 15mm today and 10 for tomorrow, now zero, zilch, nada... just more sun and heat!

last rain of significance, May 12th. Any of the light showers we've received since then, were equivalent to a heavy dew, and hardly settled the dust.

For some unknown reason, wheat and others grains are down today.

Looks like end of season bushel steal for Canada is on, even for the guys who had some kind of crop.

                            Bins fcking locked.

Increasing volatility… difficult to understand markets…

Crop ratings down 10-15% from last year… yet projected yields higher…

New routes for Ukraine grain over land to alternative ports…

                              Last drought monitor:

                              Rain for the next week…

                              Forecast for cooler August…
Dry land in southern Alberta… Toasted… many saying not worth harvesting…
                              Blessings and Prayers
