Friday Crop Report on a Thursday.

Barley is taking a kicking here. First 1/4 less than 1% chitted. Next standing field after 1/2” rain was over 3% chitted. Anything left now after this 3 day event will be as good as feed. Yield down 15%.

Peas got drowned out yield disappointing.

Wheat yield down 20% from last year.

Canola swaths look less than last year, but only the combine will tell.

Mustards look promising…

Our history is interesting they landed and farmed at Lipton then got a homestead south of Glaslyn area. But lots of trees and stones and frost they left and moved to Hodgeville. But drought and no trees so one more move back to Balcarres. Here they bought 6 quarters over time from a guy from Winnipeg. Jewish colony early settler. In 1944 we received 6 clear quarters as the debt was paid. So basically we have farmed in Sask a long time it’s just I’m going to be really old when I get the 100 year plaque.

I did get up to the homestead and took pictures for dad of the farm up there. His grandfather passed when they were farming up there and is buried at Glaslyn.

I wish I would have got more info but we have come to realization we came from the area they are fighting with Russia now in Ukraine. Yea I’m a half Uk/German.

Every (100%) of heads in these standing strips is growing in head , and I mean every one !

Sorry for your loss. I am amazed at how resilient people were. Picking up and moving not once but a couple times showed alot of grit. He must have been a hard worker.

Sask Ag is so proud 21% is done harvest. That’s not a good thing it means a subpar crop.

Those seed are huge !!! Amazing what rain does . Going to be a challenge keeping ours from blowing out the back !

This always gets me. Grading should never change if done properly. Price yes on what they pay for same quality but there is only one grade for every sample it doesn't matter where or when it is graded if sample itself doesn't change.

From what I hand thrashed out today, guaranteed grade loss now in hrsw , colour gone
Quality will be zero difference, but kiss $1 a bushel gone within a week
