I know you guys don't like cut and paste and I risk getting belittled for even adding a link and although you hate gatekeepers there are rules around parts supply, not sure if anyone has ever enforced them or if the boards even still exist since all the down sizing and stream lining in Gov't agencies since 2015. But I remember this being talked about before and Grainews doing an article. Google search helped me out.

Any link can be valued when related to ag , it’s the garbage cut and paste that has nothing with ag from a poster who posts nothing even related to ag 99% of the time .
Thanks for posting this link 👍, extremely relevant to everyone here …. who actually farms.

        It's not just ag equipment.
        And it's not the dealerships.
Ever since 08 manufacturers watch their dollars in inventory closely.
Trucks. Has to be a Paccar or you're sol after a certain year. Mack might be okay. Dealers told to discard books prior to a certain year.
Ten years after new excludes everything in my yard but the combine.
Problem is, a lot of manufacturers changed component suppliers and series too often. The further off main stream, the worse it gets.
Now you've got improperly vetted outsourcing for everything. Small internal components for component builders. Reman another one.
I'd like to hear some Deere stories.

Blame Toyota and their stupid manufacturing processes……Kicked started every manufacturer going lean and just in time.

Maybe them there dealers started to read the agricultural implements act and said we have 72 hours to get parts for new. Used we have even longer. And 10 years or more we show the customer the door…..

Somebody fire up the DeLorean, 1980/90 was a much simpler time…..

Should add the act does say all necessary parts for a new piece of machinery for 10 years will be kept in Saskatchewan by the distributor. Last I looked Pattison, Milan is not in SK…..Maybe appeal to the board and see if I can get compensated…..

I took a minute to have a look.
Im assuming dually and not sure your gear ratios but there are a couple complete assemblies at wreckers in Alberta. One in 4.88 and one in 5.38 phone numbers below.

Rock auto has the super kit to rebuild it or so it appears they do.

Will be checking that out .
Thanks for the tips from you guys , appreciate it . This is one of the values of this site .
Possibly found a used one in Edmonton, might have to make road trip . If it is decent, we will put er in and maybe rebuild the old one with parts from Rock auto this winter .
At the price these used ones are selling for it will be worth fixing in time . Just not in time for the rest of harvest .
An extra rear end will be far cheaper than trying to replace an F450 dually and deck with only 155,000 km .
Especially with mediocre crops and falling prices now .
