Grain prices have no where to go but up. However, as we learned from the russian piece of garbage putin.. when war hits, the max the world will pay is 14-15$/ bushel. After that some countries* cough..china..cough* will let their people starve. Same with feed barley.... we hit 8.50-9.00 and all the sudden trains of corn magically show up at all our local elevators ( nearby viterra brought in 11 x60 car trains of cars last winter).
    Predictions.

Sell your canola starting at 19.25. Companies will get hungry all over the provinces to keep crushers rolling and be forced to " market special". Only thing tempering canola is absolutely 0 export buys.
Wheat only has upside. Evrry single country growing wheat has drought or low yields for some reason.
Will be interesting to see exactly when the price shoots up and by how much... if you feel like you need to move some wheat, throw in a heavy high basis target and let the companies know how much they need to shave off their profits in order for it to come out of your bins. $1.60 basis for hard red up here in edmonton area? Canadian dollar down... inflation tbru the roof. Get bent. Dont spit in my mouth and tell me its raining.

For all you guys who are done harvest.
    Im sorry that sucks.
Instead of running an x 9 on those little crops you shouldve bought some old tr98s or 9600s... then youd still be combining!!!

You see a 18-19 on canola, thats an automatic sell in my books. Too many other places growing it, other substitutes.

There are guys who held durum when it hit $21 a few yrs ago, wanted $25. Farming isnt like Tesla stock. Incremental gains at best.

Yes and other countries will do extreme things to keep food inflation in check, because already hungry countries dont want swarms of armed citizens heading to the capital.

Durum and lentils and peas go to a lot of poor countries. Canola goes on the shelf next to a half dozen other seed oils.

        Well said Jazz
My biggest concern is pricing for next fall...
Farmers almanac calling for a snowy winter ( and they seem to be more precise than weather network
        lol )..

Lots of canola goes into the ground next yr... the BIGGEST CROP EVER will be predicted.
2024 fall canola price will plummet to sub 14 $.
        MIND YOUR COSTS people.

        Also
Anyone priced out ant Nitrogen? I cant even get a legit quote from nutrien... something is up there.

          Checkoff refund day is today.

X9 is really good on fuel and the headers can do lots of useful stuff just like the MacDons. You will need a bigger grain cart for sure and a good driver.

85% done wheat , missed rain last night but got er this morning.
Canola will be mixed bag from poor to not bad
              Flax looks decent.
So far happy with the 9.9’s again , steady every day 1500-1700 bph with very low loss and less than 1% dockage . Have them set up with MADDs
Had one sensor issue and one idler bearing so far in 2800 ac

Deere header cannot work on another color combine. Just in case Mrs. Claas goes head hunting!

It may be easy for an individual to choose vegetable oil over canola oil, but its often not easy for manufacturers and fast food chains to swap out. Recipes, labeling, nutritional info, oil change frequency.... There is a high cost to switch and if the high prices are perceived to be short term they will bear them.

Got to pull a 45ft header belonging to a x9 yesterday. Neighbors hired hand thought he could take a short cut pulling it down a back road with 4x4 and hit a sandbar boiled the truck motor and got stuck. IT was a good pull even with my loader tractor They do like the combine so far replaced 1 oil pump first day and has been good ever since.
