We just went through heat and drought and prices are in the toilet.

El Niño is expected to be here all winter which means warm and no snow.

Only thing rising is fert prices.

Wonder how busy the floaters are going to be this fall?

Crop better than expected in western Canada? I know we were surprised with our yields on less 4” of rain, couldn’t imagine if we had got another 2” of rain in late June and July where we would of been.

Depends on perspective
We were expecting 20 bus canola or less , got better than expected, but still well below average
Rain areas west and north of here were expecting 60 plus , it’s not happening on average

Well it will be interesting, here in Canada 15-20% of the canola will be average to above average
40% below average and 40% well below average

But traders already have decided that the 15-20% will more than make up for the 80% .

Marketed without fundamental reason anymore

Simply price will be at just above COP for the 20% and the other 80% well too bad .

And no crop insurance does not guarantee SFA

Get just under your coverage level and $15 on the market …… run the numbers , it’s not good .
