Average yields in the province are being estimated for all crops.
Province has the following numbers.
Hard-red spring wheat is estimated to yield 43 bushels per acre
durum 24 bushels per acre
oats 82 bushels per acre,
barley 56 bushels per acre
fall rye 36 bushels per acre.
Flax is estimated to yield 18 bushels per acre
canola 33 bushels per acre
soybeans 17 bushels per acre
Field peas are estimated to yield 31 bushels per acre
Mustard is estimated to yield 636 lbs. per acre
lentils 1,101 lbs per acre
canary seed 982 lbs. per acre
chickpeas 858 lbs. per acre

Canola 31

Fun fact we will make more money on wheat than Canola this crop year.

Canola acres will be down
Barley acres will be down.
Oats will be up and so will Durum.
Yellow peas will drop hard a switch to green or just drop.
Some lentil varieties and colors will change.
For our area big peas, wheat, durum, and barley yields canola was good but no 2022 yields. You can be extremely wet but still need a cooler wetter July and a half inch wasn't enough for super yields.
Rumblings that insurance will go up in 2024.
Land values are still rising and rents are coming in stronger.
Prices for grains just keep creeping lower and fertilizer chem seed keeps going higher.
2024 could be a very interesting year.
