Where exactly was I whining in my post btw ?
Simply laid out the facts as they are today .

How did canola yields end up in the palliser triangle where you claim to farm ? At one time you claimed to farm east of here . Tough to take anyone seriously that deletes most posts .
Were you able to keep those X9's full ?

As usual, the problem is corporate greed - follow the money.

As naive producers we expected all the crush plant investment would lead to increased demand and the healthy competition between export and crush would result in prosperity for all.

The reality is slapping us in the face when the exporting companies are the owners of the crush plants. Talk about conflict of interest.

Ask yourself, would you sooner make sure your plant has an ample supply of seed to run at full capacity when the theoretical crush margin (according to ICE yesterday) is $263/t or would you sooner try to earn roughly 10% of that on an export margin?

Our exporters have a very strong incentive NOT to export.

That leaves the two buyers without crush plants an export market that they don't have to work very hard to be competitive in. That said, in our area they are currently about $1/bu over those with crush plants this morning.

I have no idea how this can be resolved but we can expect poor export performance going forward.

As far as soybeans vs canola. In central MB, soybeans are running about $1.20/bu premium for soybeans from those companies actively buying. It looks like China may be trying to buy some beans from Canada again given the logistic problems out of Brazil this fall.

            crush margins through the roof
            canola oil in the supermarket
            never been higher, alternative oils
never been higher olive oil there is none

all these crushers associated with terminals
are creating their own shitty price for raw
canola by not offerring any decent price
not taking canola leaving the world
with no demand for a product that
isnt in store already for shipping

Please increase my canola check off amount to
canola growers and the check off to apas
            for bringing up these concerns

Streaming worked just fine , soil tests from fall to spring proved it was all there . Never streamed the pea stubble .
Never “sprayed “ an acre of liquid fertilizer.
Why would scic come out ? All yields gone through cart scale , documented . Was done within a week of harvest .

                They don’t come out anymore
Most farms have a scale , that’s all they use , try to keep up

That’s the way it works , if you don’t have a scale you have to estimate , but be prepared for an audit a year later , that’s why the cart scale is a must , we also have scales on the semis
In the 21 drought I tried to get them to come out , they wouldn’t
Maybe if you were a crooked fella they might ?

                    Thanks for the shout-out, AlbertaFarmer5.

We tend to seek information confirming our biases and discount what does not.

Unfortunately, that is not always in our best interests.

The 2.5 lbs established excellent, pictures in trials thread . Finished out very well as it was just clipped by hail and had extra rain there

Was impressed how well the Sandy areas held on and yielded there .
