    Australian Crops

My view australia as a whole below average for wheat barley canola. Edit lentil crops are very very good i think i dont grow them, so i stand corrected

If average is 50% of course maybe 42 to 45%

Edit again Malt barley might be a sleeper has dropped in price yep, but not alot around test weight and protein. Years gone by australia and canada were big kahunas in the malt game now china buy any barley as long as protein is right to make barley. But oddly australian malsters have become super specific in there needs.

You may see headlines australian crops 35% below last year etc etc dont be fooled last year was biggest ever.

Wheat Barley prices ok canola not and lentils dont grow them but have come off $150 a tonne in a month or so.

My ranch touch wood dead on average but aint really going properly canola running at 25 bushels mayb even 30 which is actually above average.

At those canola yields, I assume you are not growing GMO and paying the same seed prices as we are? It is now approved for Australia is it not?
Those yields wouldn't leave a lot of profit if you were paying the same for inputs as we are.

Thank you for that update, and the accurate assessment of the current state of affairs of the website.

I was just thinking in the past few days that it would be nice to get an update from you, Mallee, as well as Sheepwheat and Farmaholic. One done, two to go. Interested what your cash price is on barley and red lentils now that your off China’s sh~t list for barley and your pm hasn’t done his best to p^ss of India. Thanks again for posting.
