    Thanks for the information. Anyone else observe frost?

    Hopefully we can move this system out of the prairies.

          Does anyone know where I can find a web site that posts overnight lows immediately after the even, not a day later?

            Lee;

            For Alberta I use Ab. Environment Ag sites to look at the temps, they are @:http://www3.gov.ab.ca/env/water/basins/BasinForm.cfm

            Go to the river basin you want to look at, the select "Meterological Data", "view result", then pick the station in the area you want to look at. It works to check recent precip. as well... a very good web site you folks have put together!

            Enviroment Canada @http://www.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/canada_e.html can also give some good info, select the province you want, then the specific spot on the multilist.

            farmzone.com; http://209.82.48.84/report/MainPage.asp?zone=381&OvID=9

            has current conditions; with the exact location listed at the bottom of the page... EDM is the example I gave you, with the International Airport the location.

            Hope this helps!

                Good luck Lee.

                Enviro Can on Tuesday morning didnt show anything much below 3.7C on the sheets distributed to the trade.

                Overnight lows now posted for Edm. International and Vegreville are 1C and .7C.

                  Incognito;

                  We settled a hail claim today, AFSC adjusters are reasonably sure that negligeble damage occured over the last few nights. There is no damage on potatoes, pumkins, tomatoes etc., that we can see.

                  It was quite foggy, and very wet, which made it hard for plants to freeze, when air temps dropped close to freezing for an hour or so.

                  The lowest station reporting on AB Environment was Smoky Lake (degrees C August 9, 2004);
                  1.034@ 3:00am
                  .707@ 4:00am
                  with a low of .158@ 5:00am
                  3.283@ 6:00am
                  Andrew was .693@ 5:00am
                  Killam was .811@ 5:00am

                  All these stations reported higher temps on August 10th.

                    Thanks Tom. Dodged a bullet again. I received some canola pics from MB today that I know wont make it without a miracle. Projected swathing date is October 10. I remember in 1985 in Winnipeg, It snowed on October 10 and winter set in. Getting old, starting to sound like my grandpa....back in '85....lol

                      Any damage showing up from the frost? Sounds like it could be getting a little chilly over the next couple of days.

                        Northern Saskatchewan got hit bad last night. They woke up to a blanket of white frost. Gardens are turning black this afternoon. Also West Central Saskatchewan reported frost.

                          Light frost in north east Alberta last night. Top leaves on the Potato plants are turning black. It is also starting to get very dry in my area.

                            Frot damage very severe From St.Walberg to Mayfair to Speers. Crops in the North Battlford area are showing signs today of moderate frosat damage as well. Canola looks to be hit the worst of all, as well as later peas and lentils. Peas were found frozen together in the pods just north or NB this morning.
