    Saks Wheat Crop?

I read a blurb on DTN this morning where some wag said most of the Saskatchewan wheat crop is going to be a feed. Has any one heard how bad things are out there. I would bee surprises if all or even most of the CWRS is feed.

    What is happening guys?

Based on historic info from 1980 forward, in "normal harvest" years the average CWRS crop grades 73% # 1-2, 21% #3 and 9% feed.

In 1992, 1993 and 2002, years of major quality downgrades, the average CWRS grades were 30% #1-2, 38% #3 and 31% feed.

    Not comforting, is it?

If you listen to the so called Pros from Winnipeg we are looking at 50% or better of the CWRS beeing feed? I don't beleive it. Yet?

Agricore's Hayward was on CTV news on Friday and stated 20% of the WESTERN CANADIAN wheat crop will grade #1 and #2 - balance at 3 CWRS and feed.

          From DTN:

Ideas circulating in the trade were that as much as 50% of
Western Canada's wheat crop may grade as feed wheat. The dealer said that percentage may be on the high side, but
whether it's only 30% or 40%, that will still represent an uncommonly large amount of supply.

Draw a line from Biggar west to the border and south to the U.S., this will be "generally" the area with some #1 and #2 HRSW. Practically everywere else will be 3 and feed depending on who's buying and who's selling.

I farm in northern Sask and there's more feed here then 3. We haven't threshed any CPS yet it may grade better. Expect pockets around Wadena and Canora where the frost was worse to be much worse.
