The wheat in this area is mostly feed with some 3 and the odd bit of 2. With the yields as high as they are the guys with 2 or even 3 will have a very good year but with feed bellow $2 wheat will lose money on most farms.
Is there any difference in varieties regarding grade. In this area some of the Bounty and Barrie are making milling grades and rumor is Prodegy is all feed. Anyone else have any comments on this.
I expect as the winter progresses there will be some beter markets for some of these better loking feeds. Someone should be able to make some big money selling them to some contry,s that arnt to fussy if the price is right. The Russians did it 2 years ago.
Wheat board salesmen don’t get off the beaten path .They are more comfortable in a boardroom than our banging on small millers doors.
