    Wheat grades

The wheat in this area is mostly feed with some 3 and the odd bit of 2. With the yields as high as they are the guys with 2 or even 3 will have a very good year but with feed bellow $2 wheat will lose money on most farms.
Is there any difference in varieties regarding grade. In this area some of the Bounty and Barrie are making milling grades and rumor is Prodegy is all feed. Anyone else have any comments on this.
I expect as the winter progresses there will be some beter markets for some of these better loking feeds. Someone should be able to make some big money selling them to some contry,s that arnt to fussy if the price is right. The Russians did it 2 years ago.
Wheat board salesmen don’t get off the beaten path .They are more comfortable in a boardroom than our banging on small millers doors.

I agree with your comments. My Prodigy and Superb are feed. There is some #3 around here but not much elevators saying 3/4s of what they see is feed. Bounty does seem to be doing better. It's absolutely rediculous to contemplate selling 14 protein wheat at 61 lb bushel weight
for $1.89. More proof that our KVD system serves no one but the empire
engaged in self-preservation. Surely the grades will have to adjust so that they have something to market. Yields are great but feed wheat at these
    prices doesn't add up.

Guys whar region anre you from? What does your feed wheat weigh. How much falls into these cattegories. Under 50Lbs 50-57 lbs and 58lbs? Their could be three types of feed wheat this year.

Farm at norther Sask. Wheat weighs 59.5 to 61 ibs with 13.5 to 14 protein
but bran frost makes it grade feed. When will the Empire smell the coffee
and realize they have nothing to market if they are only concerned with
visual characteristics. Just meet the spec.
