My 2003 claim covers the 2002 drought because of my yearend. They still haven't processed my claim yet and won't put it on the fast track because the payment is over $50,000. Good and bad news!

Well Crusher, enjoy my share. I got a big fat zero on my statement too. This is my reward for carrying a high crop insurance level, and the premium to go with it. My margins from 2001 to 2003 only varied about $8000, with 2002 crop insurance making up the bulk of my 2003 income. Land loans force me to carry crop insurance, but I know there are bigger, established farmers who don't, and they will make out like bandits with this program. Pi$$es me off!! These government programs never seem to put the money into the hands that need it. I consider myself fortunate that I came through 2002 as well as I did, but there are guys who didn't, and I wonder if CAIS will carry them through??

                  Crusher whats the fast track?

I asked if it would take 1 month or 6 and she wouldn't say.

We don't use crop ins. and we have had good crops for the last 5 years.

My understanding of the fast track is farmers will be sent the amount due as calculated by the application submitted, provided it is under $50,000 and in Alberta - best to contact your local CAISP people for confirmation. Applications will be reviewed later.
