WINNIPEG (Dow Jones)--The following are the Canadian Wheat Board's wheat export prices, in Canadian dollars per metric ton, instore:

1 CWRS 13.5% $229.19 West Coast
1 CWRS 13.5% $215.87 TBay
2 CWRS 13.5% $211.57 TBay
3 CWRS - px $187.97 TBay

What a huge difference from CWB prices and spreads we get from the CWB as "designated area" wheat growers.

Wouldn't cash prices that reflect these actual market returns be what the CWB should use on the DPC?

Wouldn't answer the question but rather provide the information needed for farmers to answer themselves.

If you go down to the bottom, you will see the current 1DNS 14 protein is US $5.08/bu or about Cdn $215/tonne. This is equivalent to a 2CWRS 13.5.

As a note of explanation, the top two prices for 1CWRS 13.5 are export prices with the remainder the amounts paid by domestic millers. The most important question is how much is sold at these levels but that is never published.

My concern is the principal of our system... a system that is required by international law... and claimed by the CWB to be...

Equitable, Transparent, and Commercial.

How can this claim that this is a transparent and commerial be justified?

Cross Subsidisation is rampant and obvious in our system to me.

International prices and domestic prices are obviously different.

Nation to Nation in the International community... the CWB discriminates on who pays what price. Same goes for the domestic CDN system.

How can anyone actually call this a market...

Actual trade to allow a market by competitive commercial interests of the producers of wheat;

Is against the laws of Canada.

The CWB does not produce the wheat... has no dicipline on the cost side as everything goes through a pool that is set at 65% or less than Fair Market Value.

HOW ABSURD!

How can anyone call (in their right mind; that is) this a commercial system?

Can you explain how it is "commercial" and disciplined by a free market system?
