    Voluntary CWB not an option for grain marketing

    Lakenheath;

    The CWB had it right.

    WE MUST have a voluntary CWB for any grain marketing to occur.

    Last weeks Pool Return Outlook is the perfect example of how foolish a system without a market pays for the folly of this "designated area" relic of the second world war.

    $21.50/t crash in feed wheat prices over 5 days in the Edmonton Alberta area market alone.

    When International markets for feed grains are the highest in 3 months... and still on the rise.

    THis is not marketing... it is a slaughterhouse!

    Again, we need to know what is going on. If they are manipulating the markets with the PRO's, shame on them. We had a meeting a severals months ago (6 local farmers) with Rod Flaman and 2 other reps from the CWB. We demanded change at the meeting, pointed out weakenesses and faults in the CWB and all we got out of the meeting was a "yes we must change".

    We said that desperate times call for desperate measures. They agreed with us and could not defend themselves. But nothing has changed since then.
