      I have thought for some time now that the CWB is anxious to keep these debts hanging there - time and again the repayment schedules have been extended. As long as this debt is outsanding the CWB picks up the spread between the "commercial" interest rates its charging on the debt and the govt backed rates at which it borrows - somewhere between 1 and 2%. For every billion outstanding thats about $10 million in "free"revenue. I guess I'd want to keep that gravy train going as well.

        Chaffmeister, this "gravy train" as you call it has put between 50 and 90 Million dollars a year into the pockets of farmers. Sounds like you and Tom believe that is somehow wrong.

          Vader;

          I am astounded, the CWB refused to allow the loan to be paid out?

          This are astounding.

              Agstar;

              My Blood Presure just went through the ROOF::::

              I will gladly give back my share.

              I have been trying to do this since 1996.

              Vader knows this.

              I cannot even sell offboard wheat to any elevator without the CWB's permission... and a Permit Book.

              THe CWB had orders for Pioneer at Elk Island AB to have the elevator manager call the CWB if I came anywhere near the elevator there in 1996.

              To sell any grain to an elevator.

              They thought it was quite funny!

              We all laughed... but it makes me sick when I think about it.

              I said I would not take a permit book out again; back then... and the CWB forced me to take out one anyway.

              I then sold offboard feed wheat the ATL Edmonton, hauled one load... and was told I could not get paid, or fill a binding offboard contract... without a CWB Permit Book!

              Please tell me where I can sign out of the CWB and NOT have anything to do with them. Then I will gladly repay any of this graft.

              This makes me SICK.

              If you had any IDEA what I have gone through!
