    CWB pays off Seducer?

    Cropduster,

I was astounded that after the Stettler CWB accountability meeting... the Seducer reported all was sweetness and light at that meeting.

Talk about an unaccountability meeting; the Seducer assured it remained exactly that.

I phoned and wrote the Seducer the next day, and talked to Ewins:

Ewins flat told me that the Oil for Food/CWB involvement was a dead issue; and the Seducer would not talk about it again.

The Seducer prepared a one sided CWHWS front page article, With the CWB Trashing Snowbird.

When I talked to EWINS before this article was released; he indicated he was not interested in this issue either.

I want to know exactly what agreements verbal and monitary the CWB has made with the Seducer since the last election was called.

To say their reporting has been one sided, article after article, is the understatement of the year.

SO, how much are the CWB PAYING for this Press?

This is why I dropped my subscription to that paper many years ago.

Ewins and Wilson are still living in the past, thinking that they work for the POOL.....Their sorry worlds are ended....I remember running into Roy Atkinson a year or two ago,the heavy old socialist had nothing left except rhetoric.....what a sad sight to see.I saw the same look in Ewins eyes at the WCWGA convention. It`s completely SAD to see how the `social gospel` leaves it`s followers.....GREY,OLD,SHATTERED,empty SHELLS.

Ed White I find to be a great reporter, takes the time to research, and presents the story quite well and unbiased. They aren't all bad.

The classifieds are OK and the opinions/editorials are always interesting. They don't set my values but are a barometer of how people are thinking. Isn't that all a paper can be expected to provide? Written stuff to fit between the ads.

After all, media is a business, it sells stuff. Ever notice how many commercials are during CTV National news. What a profit generator.

If you are after the truth with deep insight, go to your local coffee shop or read Agriville, always entertaining

Tom, will the Auditor General now be able to do a real audit of the CWB and it's spending practices and history, under the Conservatives new Accountability Law, when and if it becomes law? The mainstream media have mentioned "all crown corporations", they've mentioned the CBC, Canada Post, VIA Rail, and Indian Reserves but not the CWB.

                    Vader;

The CWB spends my money; to work directly against my interests.

I am obviously offended by this operation. Now CWB policy says I do not count: because I am a detractor.

So the CWB keeps my money; then says it is commercial... which allows it to ignore my concerns.

OBVIOUSLY: The CWB IS NOT A COMMERCIAL ORGANISATION or COMPANY.

It cannot be until we are allowed a way to opt out of it's operations.

WD9: I agree with what you say, Cropduster makes good points.

Advertising can - buy - huge impact in a paper like the Seducer... Especially a monopoly news producer!

I can't afford not to see what they print... to see what the CWB IS Up to!

I note that in the back of the paper they receive financial support through the Publications Assistance Program from the gov't of Canada toward mailing costs.

No opinion here, just observation. I will assume that many other farm publications receive similar grants.

Can some one tell me if it is correct that Ian McCreary and Ken Ritter are not eligable to run in the next CWB elections? Heard this from someone in volved in the grain trade.

Tom: When I was a boy my Dad subscribed to two papers: The Winnipeg Free Press and the Western Producer. I will always remember the papers usually came the same day. At night he would first read the Free Press and when he was finished would say "Now we'll see what the communists have to say!" and pick up the Producer!
I have always subscribed to the Producer. There is some very useful info in the paper, but their editorial content is pretty red? I actually find Grain News to be a much better paper?
