International malt barley prices either must come up... or are higher than reported: Because the ABB are quoting their new season pool at
around $154/tA.
So, either ABB are not telling growers what international malt barley values really are, or
they have to sell malt barely into the $200/tA domestic feed market.
In fact with endusers being asked to pay $200/t for feed
barley, how can ABB even run a malt pool at all if the
international market is only going to return growers $154/t?
What will this do to Canadian barley prices?
Now drought is being forcasted for western Canada next year... should we sell at below the cost of production... at $90/tCDN for feed?
