AdamSmith;
My brother Charles is working in Kenya with the native folk there.
He tells a of true situation about the creation of wealth and prosperity.
The situation is that the culture in many African tribal situations... is that if someone has an item, something they think they need... many believe they have a right to TAKE that item.
Local Store owners are caught between a rock and a hard place... because extended family, especially, come and take stock items from the store... and few have the ability... to say NO to relatives especially. Bankruptcy seems to be the result except if the store owner is really diciplined and considered "mean spirited"!
SO;
Commerce, creation of wealth, and lack respect for private property stops much development in the first place.
Why should someone go out and work hard all day... invest in the future and be bound to that investment... just to have someone come and say they need that item, thing, food,... or whatever they think they "Need"?
Why work... and they give it away... so...
In their society, often many times don't work do "productive" work in our sense of the word "work".

New crushing plants in the eastern Canadian Prairies... Tar Sands plants... developments of all kinds:
DON'T go ahead with out faith and hope in the future... a positive loving outlook on life.
And the final requirement in confidence that private property rights will be respected.
This is a Judeo-Christian principal... which has created the prosperity which the western world is founded upon.
It is not by accident, prosperity never is created by accident.
Someone must have a plan, the faith to implement that plan, and the willingness to share the fruit of the plan with others for there to be "prosperity"!
But society and civilisation needs to respect the right of who does the sharing, to share it with whom; and how.!
Otherwise... IMHO there is Literal WAR!
OSAMA war. Saddam war.
It is VERY interesting to think about these things! Thanks for the motivation Adam!
God Bless Canada!
