    THis is higher than export malt barley prices... isn't it?

    What web site are you using? The site I use for Portland barley prices is not quoting.

    Montana cash prices are about US $6/CWT (Cdn $145/tonne) for feed and US $7/CWT for malt barley (Cdn $170/tonne).

      Still not getting any quotes from my normal source. DTN put out a price sheet showing a 2.8 mln bushel sale to Japan with a sale price of $162/short tonne. Convert to Canadian dollars and tonnes results in a price of close to $200/tonne. Back off port costs, rail, elevation and that would result in a price of $140/tonne ($3/bu) right across Alberta - competitive with feed markets.
