I dont think you grasp the significance of the kyoto deal.Kofi-ann point blankly told us there would be considerable political fallout for our actions. The whole world has pulled together to tackle the environment and were thumbing our noses at them. This is making canada lok REALLY BAD!

CP;
You actually agree with Koyto?
What does the agreement mean to you?
Lower farm gate prices for our products... cross transfer of wealth and competitive standing to others...
With out even asking me or my family... confiscation
This is the truth I see CP... what do you see?

Cottonpicken I agree with Tom. The whole world hasn't stepped up to the plate. What a great choice we have. The Liberals who signed Kyoto but had absolutely no idea how on how to meet their committments and did little to try or the conservatives whose plan culminates in 2050. Seems like a failing grade for both

CP, Lets just say the doom and gloomers are right about climate change and global warming or even 1/2 right.
Wouldn't that be a benifit to Canada?
Less energy used to heat our homes and buildings in winter.
A longer growing season for agriculture.
The trees north of 60 might actually grow and absorb more C02, and then be used for lumber.
An open northwest passage in which Canada could profit from.
Newfoudland could become a winter hot spot destination. Well maybe not that.
The way I see it global warming would be great for Canada.

And what about bangledash thats 1 meter above sea level.Thats just their problem and of no consurn to us.
The reason its going to cost us more is because were rich and consume infinitely more than the poor people of the world.
Does world democracy not interest you?Or only when it suits you? What about the thousands of scientists begging us to do something? Are they all lying? Is your armchair judgment in a field you no nothing about better than theirs? Are you the type of person that only looks out for number 1?Are you a follower or do you lead by example?Should every country just do what they want?

Democracy across the world would be great CP, too bad a very large percent of the UN does not agree.
Please explain to us how sending our cash to places like Russia, China, India, Iran, etc.. is going to improve or lower the pollution or greenhouse gas levels in this world. Nobody is going to tell them how to spend it.
While you are at it, please tell us how it would be bad to stand up to places like China and tell them what we think of their human rights abuses. If I am not mistaken we import way more product from them than they us. They are looking for our commodities in a bad way and they could use a good prod every now and then. The old gov't was a bunch of yes men and wussies.

The fearmongering continues... you really are a socialist hiding behind a mask.
Good job... had me fooled for a second!
Holand is in a more difficult position... I don't hear them asking for a hand out.
When Ice melts... it takes less space as water.
When the atmosphere warms up... it holds much more water.
We should dam up water on the prairies to hold it back from the sea... irrigate our land... carbon sink and make bio fuels... use up that extra water!
THis is an opportunity for us to create prosperity... not go hide under a rock and wait for the sky to fall!
Everything is a state of mind... lets keep a positive outlook... and we will all be better neighbours!

Tom your showing your true brilliance.
Good job..had me fooled for a second.
If any of you think the ice caps melting is a good thing you are borderline retarded and theres not much point in argueing.
If you think china can be pushed around your wrong.Do you know what would happen if china dumped its u.s currency reserves?
And this isnt about sending money to iran. Its about reducing our own emmissions. We havent done squat to reduce, reuse, recycle. We think its are god givin right to burn a gallon of gas to go buy a gallon of milk.

I agree C.P the previous government
had good intentions but didn't follow
thru, but the Harper gov't Doesn't even
believe global warming is happening.
So why should it do anything ?
They ahve got their heads buried in the
Tarsands.

Please tell us Oh Wisest Ones : What would Canada have to do to get to the Kyoto numbers that were dreamed up by the guy from Quebec?
Don't give us rhetoric either. I want to hear your solution to reaching that number of emissions without buying credits from some other country.
What would that average Canadian in the city need to do differently and what would it mean for the average farmer in Sask?

Mustardman,
All I can do is be responsible for my own behavior... and hope my example is an honest attempt to do my part.
I bought a 2000 used VW Golf Diesel with 120,000 miles on it. I didn't buy new. I am actively conserving resourses to the cost of my comfort and safety.
Deer in the windsheild of small cars can be deadly. I know this.
SO please let us all do our small part, sacrifice where we can, and be a good example to our communities and nation!
God Bless Canada!
