    Harvesting Opportunities & the CROW

    Incognito;

    You needed to be in Vermilion last night at the Wildrose CWB District 5 Director's Election Forum!

    I truly feel sorry for Allan Oberg.

    And he thought he was on the inner circle of CWB management? Or was he just not fessing up!

    Either way...

    If there is one thing I won't accuse Goodale of being... that is stupid. That man is sensitive... and as astute a politician as there was.

    Picture this...

    Go back about a year and a half...

    Goodale and Alcock sit down and have a chat about the CWB's new formulation... in stategic planning called "Harvesting Opportunities"

    Ag Canada has just done an assesment... the CWB is demanding it's cake... and wants to eat it too. Goodale is not happy...

    1.5 billion in Capital injection of Cash... Plus keeping the monopoly.

    WTO is not going well for the CWB... the Liberal Ag Committee has even voted for a trial run on marketing choice...

    Goodale and Alcock know the monopoly is problematic... a thorn in the side.

    Goodale says to Alcock; "Those idiots... we just offered them $1.5 billion... in a 5 year transition out of the single desk... and they laughed is our %^&(*$# faces! Those #^&@*@) what do they think they are doing? I gave them a contingency fund... an opportunity to create a self reliant... and they give us this @#*&^@(*#&& *.

    AND KNOW WHAT Reg...

    I don't even think those @##*&^#_) will even discuss it with the *&)#@&^ Directors!"

    Incognito;

    A barley grower from Lloydminster asked Oberg about this situation... and asked a question something like this:

    Mr. Oberg... we have just indicated that there is a good chance Billions have been offered to the CWB to transition out of the Monopoly over 5 years.

    You have indicated 1.5 billion is not enough.

    Then what about $3 billion, or $4.2 billion... name your price!

    Wouldn't it be worth a try to get something of value from the "single desk" so we could build a new corporation that we could use?

    Oberg's answer was something like this:

    That the Competition board would never allow it. That it wasn't possible.

    Incognito;

    It is picture clear... that we have most likely already given up... assets to growers... of BILLIONS of $$$$$$$$.

    Just like the CROW.

    Here we go again.

    Tom Jackson wanted the opportunity to negotiate... to provide a stable NEW Corp... with the ability to compete and raise the value of our grains and oilseeds at our farm gates.

    But will the "single desk" directors get out of the way... and allow those with vision to build a next generation grain marketer? It sure looks like "Over their dead CWB"!

    Does anyone even care... should Jackson care?

    What about you lakenheath?
