I would suggest this report sends mixed messages. Implies that decisions we make today will impact our future and could lead to the family farm being lost to corporate farms. At the same time indicates that net income continues to decline under our present system. Seems to imply that we need to maintain our present system to save the family farm. Moral is this. What we have today is not working but trying to change will make it worse. Also implies that this is a decision that should be made by all of society. In the end you have a report that serves it's purpose. You can read into it anything you want.

wilagro - if you're talking about the "article" by Murray Fulton, with all due respect, give your head a shake!

I read those 47 pages of drivel last night and ever since have been trying to calm down enough to post something here on it.

Fulton is an academic - I was anticipating a piece of academia. You know, an analytic approach, showing some reasoned thought. What he produced is simply 24 pages or CWB rhetoric, 4 pages of references, a 4 page Appendix, and 6 pages of endnotes.

This document is made to look like it was a grand effort when in reality it appears like something the CWB put together for him. (If the CWB paid for this, would it mean it's non-compliant with the govt "gag order"?)

Although the piece mainly presents his opinions, it does include some facts - problem is many are wrong.

If you really want to read this, my advice is do so with an open mind. If you're an open market supporter, you'll be disappopinted because its just more of the same old tripe. If you're a CWB supporter you should be disappointed because it does nothing, absolutley nothing, to further your cause. You may even be embarrassed.
