The CWB can make some decisions Tom4CWB, but the Minister can overide what the CWB proposes or does.

The Minister is the big king pin.

I copied this from links from Agri-ville's homepage:

Agri-ville.com is for you. It is your site. It is your meeting place to connect with farmers and specialists across Canada. It is your site for market news and information you need to make the right decisions for your farm or agri-business. It is also your gateway to other web sites, publications, educational opportunities and, yes, real people with expertise to help you when you need it.

Started in 1997 as an Alberta-Canada Farm Business Management Program pilot project, Agri-ville.com was quickly adopted as western Canada’s premiere on-line agricultural community. In fall 2001 Agri-ville.com took a bold step into the future. CRCS Inc. the key supporter of Agri-ville.com since the beginning, and then AgraPoint International, Inc. joined forces to give Agri-ville.com even more energy and resources to meet members’ needs.
With the computer and technological expertise of Agri-Web Services, the professionals and specialists and an exceptional group of professional agrologists and advisors form Agri-ville.com’s moderator team.

        Look them up at

        http://www.crcs.com/

Better yet, send them an e-mail thanking them for investing money in Agri-ville so that farmers could communicate.

This is the e-mail address to send them a thank you:

              Expertise

As a market specialist I work with farm managers improve their incomes by doing a better job of marketing what they produce.

I arrange and instruct producer marketing workshops ranging from as short as an hour to as long as four to ten days. These workshops may be organized by Alberta Agriculture alone or jointly with a grain company, a bank, an auction mart or any other business involved with producers.
Another way for producers to improve their marketing skills is by forming a marketing club. Marketing clubs may be organized by producers themselves or by agribusinesses. I have worked intensively with a number of successful marketing clubs.
              Background
Born and raised on a mixed farming operation at Cereal, about 55 miles east of Hanna, Alberta.
Graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1974.
Agriculture Representative and District Agriculturist in Saskatchewan and Alberta for 12 years at Kindersley, Shaunavon and Hanna.
District Agriculturist at Hanna for seven years beginning in November, 1979.,

During those 12 years, my main interests and the majority of my work was in the areas of farm financial management and agricultural marketing - the business side of farming.
In November 1986, I became the Marketing Specialist at Fairview, responsible for the Peace and Barrhead Regions.
July 1, 1994 I became Market Specialist at Brooks.
I am still involved in our farming operation at Cereal.

Gee, Parsley, all those kind words. I'm blushing from head to toe and some of that skin ain't purtie.

In all seriousness, though, I hope this sight continues with new owners.

I guess that now Agri-ville is done you believe that you can say what you want A.S. There is no room for the kind of name calling you are engaging in it serves no useful purpose except to throw doubts on your credibility, T4 wouldn't stoop that low even if he thought it. I am surprised the Mayor hasn't stepped on you, perhaps he has more pressing matters.

Lets not forget the contibutions from the likes of Parley, the organic farmer. He reminds me of Granda Simpson, particularily from episode 9F16,season 4, "The Front", that aired on 04/15/1993. If you dont recall, it is basically about how 2 very young children take advantage of an old man for their own personal gain.

Also lets give a few Cheers to Tom4CWB, for all his posts. I havent needed to read the Sunday comic stips since he started posting. What was even more funny was the fact he often was the only one who replied to his own commentary. DONT LISTEN TO THE VOICES IN YOUR HEAD TOM. Good Luck, I hope the Ebay VOLVO holds out for the 2007 TX/OK/KS Winter wheat / KFC tour.

"The CWB is not an agent of the government," said Ritter. "It is not a Crown corporation."
                        IP:

Ritter didn't bother to explain why every Government that I can remember ( and thats getting to be quite a few ) has had a minister RESPONSIBLE for the Canadian Wheat Board.

                          HFL,

In the Federal Court of Canada, this is what the CWB said:

"...the Board was not and is not
not accountable to individual producers. Rather the Board is accountable only to Parliament. Therefore neither the Board or the Crown owed any legal duty to the plaintiffs (farmers).

The CWB lies to farmers. Ritter lies to farmers.

                          Ritter must resign.

                            Agstar77,

I never personally attacked anyone who is actually participating on this forum. (unless you are Adrian Measner)

You guys seem to think you can call Minister Strahl or Prime Minister Harper any name you like or cut them down; my comments about Measner are no different and should be viewed in the same light.

If Adrian wants to play in the realm of politics he can expect to be treated in the same manner he treats others.

Agstar77, Agri-ville is not the house of commons. If someone is being dishonest or lying, I’m pretty sure we can point that out. And as I said before the man is lying through his teeth about the CWB not being a government agency or that the minister doesn’t have any responsibility here or what this issue is about.

This is what the court finally says in the M-JAY FARMS ENTERPRISES LTD vs the CWB case:

"....whether in fact the plaintiffs have been treated fairly, or may have a legitimate complaint by reason of the actions of the Board, nevertheless, in the view I take of this statute the responsibility is not to any individual producers but rather to the Minister under the Act and finally to Parliament."

When the CWB went to the WTO the CWB claimed they were "in essence a farmer co-operative...subject to no direction, supervision or influence by the Government of Canada."

                                So which is it?

I agree Asmith. Those CWB boys can lie through their teeth when it suits their purpose.
