    Reality "cheque"

The intitial pmts from all board grains are a joke! Even with FPC's, EPO's, PPO's, how can anyone support the CWB?
$.93/bus 6 row malt dry low protien
$1.1/bus 2 row malt dry low protien
    $2.5/bus #1 13% pro hrsw dry
No CWB grains will be grown on our farm next year period!
$4/bus cps deliverd off the combine
$3/bus feed barley will be available
No protien, qouta's, midge, and less grading issues with non-board grains make malt barley and "high" qaulity wheats a dead issue for us.
Thank God for non board commodities this year. Where is all this premium the great CWB is getting us?
As a young farmer I need something more bankable than a low balled PRO and pathetic contract calls(80%hrsw, 50%cpsw).

If I was a maltster I would be concerned that there will be no supply of malt barley. Why would would any one grow it when the premium prices are for feed barley.

I agree totally the CWB in all its wisdom is killing farms in Western Canada. It seems they believe every one gets a share of the profit and then send the scraps to the farmer in a final payment.
Talked to a maltster at Agribition and he said barley was close to 4.50 a bushel, then who is getting the profit from malt barley.
Change is comming on the Canadian farm and those who for years made a living off of us dumb farmers through Gov intervention and dumb CWB system will find them selves in Financial disarray the same as farmers have suffered from the last 13 years.

Let's not forget who sets and raises the initial prices. Its the FEDS. and the board has asked and asked and asked to have the prices increased, but guess what, This Gov't who claims they are the farmers saviour are very reluctant to do so.
They do not want to do any favours towards making the board look good when they are in the middle of disembowling the organization !!!
WITH FRIENDS IN OTTAWA LIKE STEVE,CHUCK AND DAVID WE DON'T NEED ANY ENEMIES.

I do agree with you mustard man to some extent the Fed Govt has been really slow to do anything with the increase in initials. I mean they no the price is up and yes the Board has asked over and over. But also look at the PRO the board hasn't achieved premium on HRS and Durum.
Also back to the Feds they have a poor understanding of Farming because back in the Summer they announced that they are looking at our CASIP from past years and readjusting well hell its Xmas and I still haven't heard any thing back.
We need a Ag minister that knows lives and Understands farming I am sorry Chuck but your missing the Boat.

mustardman, this is what you get when you have a marketing system that is all about politics and zero about performance.

Surrender the monopoly and you will be able to disasociate yourself from your political enemies and I'll be able to disasociate myself with my political enemies too.

You hate being used as a political pawn, I hate being used as political pawn.

            What say you mustardman?

By the way the picture of Dion, Easter and Measner standing shoulder to shoulder during yesterdays press conference is being splashed all around the country.

If Measner isn't a Liberal shill no one is.

It was nice to see Dion, Easter, Measner and Goodale united against the anti-CWB mafia. About time we has some action against these turkeys.

Canadians have to be vigilant before we lose more of our cherished institutions.

              In the meantime...keep on smiling.

wilagro, so now your a member of the criminal underground if you oppose the cwb?

oh yeah right, the liberals use handcuffs on those farmers who oppose them don't they!

Why don't you complain to one of the Western Rural Liberal MP's who represent designated area growers?

Oh yeah, I forgot, THERE AREN'T ANY!

There might be fewer Conservative MP's in the next election. Not a farmer I have talked to recently say they will vote for the Harper Strahl duo again. These are farmers of all ages and very large to small operations.

In my part of the world the common repsonse from actual producers is "finally a govt that is doing something on the ag front!"...looking at making changes to the way we market grain, increased interest free cash advances.....by the way that has nothing to do with board....review of safety net program......I know it is not perfect, and the beuracracy is slow to act on getting the programs and money flowing........no chance of our conservative MP losing his seat....I suspect not one rural seat in Alberta is under serious threat...what so Dion and Orchard can speak for western farmers, when pigs fly will this be better for western farmers...IMHO

Almoy, if not consevative, which one of the other parties, Libs, NDP or Green?

my MP won with a 16000 vote margin over the next one I'm guessing that there are at best 2000 farmers in my riding, probably 1/4 never voted Tory, so we have 1500 tory farmers, of that 1500 there might be a 1/4 of those who are upset about this the other 3/4 are saying it's about damn time. So my MP loses 375 votes. Big deal?

It's going to have zero effect in my riding.

The adjustment payments never came any faster under the Liberal governments of the past 13 years when there was no CWB controversy. I am voting Conservative again but hopefully not for a couple of years.

The picture from a week ago I found disturbing was the one with Dion at the podium surronded by Chretein,Martin and Turner. This is the new look Liberals. I would have thought it would be prudent to distance yourself from the recent Liberal past. Brings into question just who are the power brokers behind the new leader.

in case you missed it , the initial price was set unrealistically low considering the grain supply at the time. So its a double whammy ; set the initial price ridiculously low {helps with David's agenda) and then refuse to raise it even after we know a huge drought has affected many of our competitors. These frickin donkeys[steve david and chuck} ought to be drug thru town by their heels.

lets really low ball the intial and then refuse to raise it even though grain r
