    anyone delivering #1 HRS Wheat

Just curious if anyone has been able to deliver #1 HRS wheat to their elevator. Our spot doesn't see any delivery until at least February.

    #2
We farm in Western Manitoba and have delivered all our RS Wht, which grades #1, starting end of Aug up until Dec. Had 2 B train loads grade #2 because of midge damage but all the rest was #1.

we pushed hard to get our high protein no. 1, to lock in the premium under the first initial payment. all the other guys in our marketing club have been doing the same thing and i think we're all up to the 40% call. if you have fpc's and 15pro , it's worth more than 20$/t to not have to wait until feb.

Is there any way to know which areas receive rail car allocation/service ?

Depends on which port it goes to? Problems in Vancouver, again?

Surely all 3 western provinces would be shipping grain equally? (ie Man/Sask wouldn't get their grain shipped first, or vice versa?)

surely as people are honest on this forum it appears all three provinces are not shipping grain out equally. but the calls do differ by train run sometimes, don't they?

I asked our elevator manager whether lack of shipping was an in house issue ( some points getting shipping some not) He said they get info from the board every week which gives info on sales committments. His suggestion is that it is not likely anyone is getting shipping on #1 HRS . I know that our elevator does not have much surge capacity so they only call what there is shipping lined up for .

Shipped some this week, takes us up to 40%. I know there is a lot of grain moving because trucker was complaining about lineups. This was to Three Hills so I don't know what line you are on. If they are not shipping #1, what are they shipping?

Am loading producer cars and have been shipping #1 (both high and low protein). Biggest problem is getting shipping orders from the CWB. Am in west central Sask.

40% #1 14.5 protein delivered as of this morning {S.W Sask}, wish my specialty crops would get picked up-it seems my only cash crops are durum, hrsw and peas.
The rest (other pulses and mustards) have had dreadful movement last couple of years, maybe I should blame the wheat board.

40% of our CWRS 1&2 Delivered out here in east central Alberta.

Perhaps, Mustardman, some competition would allow growers to sell 100% of their Durum and CWRS each year... taking pressure off your mustard/special crop production acres.

Why not grow some juncea that has Canola quality...?
I know we aren't supposed to switch back and forth...

If the CWB was marketing mustard... with a "single desk" as it has in wheat... do you really honestly think this crop would be delivered sooner and at higher prices?
We need more hot dog sales...!
And not the ones in the CWB Marketing/Sales dept. either!

Tom yes if specialty crops were under a single desk prices would be higher; economics 101 - single seller versus multiple sellers especially for grains where we dominate the market such as green lentils, canary, yellow mustard. Actually a few neighbours have been selling lentils "as a group" to negotiate a better price based on volume. Movement couldn't be any worse last year they came to get my mustard same day that I was starting to harvest the Next years mustard crop.Granted storage fees were paid to me but at very low rates.
