    cottonpicken,

Simply put, I know how to make ends meet. So do you.

When goods and money are scarce, as is usually the rule in socialist/communist countries, people have to make ends meet, somehow. But they resort to looking for the good life. Quantity. Variey. Consistency. Dependability. Exotic. Harmony. No force. Co-operation. Mutual respect.

G-8's have worked at this over years. Not perfect, but they have some things in common that have provided positive results all Third-Worlders seek, including Cuba.

Are capitalist countries self-disciplined enough? Some do better than others. You noted that the US is carrying a burdomsome debt, I agree, but their economy is big, big, and their output is astounding. And their will is admirable.

Give the USA credit, cottonpickin, they are the only nation that comes to my mind, that sacrificed their own citizens in a war waged on slavery to put an end to slavery. Not talk. Action. The only nation.

That alone, makes them rank really high in my books. Their economic notions are closely knit with their sense of freedom notions. Hand in hand, CP. Here's the formula:

    ECONOMICS FREEDOM = WEALTH

That is a formidible front for a nation/society/town/co-op/family/cottonpicken to build.

The end result is that US citizens are focused, informed, and participatory. They produce. Produce. produce.

Liberty astutely capsulated Cuba's basic problem:

".. a nation that produces next to nothing, can afford next to nothing. Those are the unavoidable consequences of a centrally planned economy."

We had a young man from China work on our farm for some time. It makes me appreciate Canada, cottonpicken.

Seek to define what you like about our political system. I appreciate that we have the opportunity to even have this discourse.

Is this a commodity marketing thread or the Libiterian Party of Canada blog site?

Parsley (Petroselinum carolisism Johnssonicum) is a bright green, biennial herb that is very common in Middle Eastern, European, and American cooking. It is used for its leaf in much the same way as coriander (which is also known as Chinese parsley or cilantro), although it has a milder flavor.

Two forms of parsley are used as herbs: curly leaf and Italian or flat leaf (P. neapolitanum). Curly leaf parsley is often used as a garnish. Many people think flat leaf parsley has a stronger flavor, and this opinion is backed by chemical analysis which finds much higher levels of essential oil in the flat-leaved cultivars. One of the compounds of the essential oil is apiol. Another type of parsley is grown as a root vegetable.

            Bennyhin,

Intimidation is an interesting tool... one Stalin was a master at using... and he taught many others that it could be used sucessfully to change the world. Mao learnt well... and well may have disposed of twice as many people.

That we are scolded for bringing these facts forward requires some thought.

Communism and socialism failed because of a lack of respect... one person for the others around them. Freedom and Integrety, Respect and hope... all bring brotherly love.

Love can heal a broken heart... can forgive all things... and build a future through co-operation where no other intrinsic human value or spirit can even come close to building a better future.
