    Strahl is suppose to be announcing barley question for the plebisite today in Red Deer. Anyone know where and when.

    MINISTER STRAHL TO ANNOUNCE BARLEY PLEBISCITE QUESTION AND VOTER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
    OTTAWA, Ontario, January 19, 2007 - The Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister for the Canadian Wheat Board, will be in Red Deer on Monday, January 22, to announce the barley plebiscite question and voter eligibility criteria. Minister Strahl will be available to speak to the media following the announcement.

    Media representatives will be able to listen to the Minister’s address and media availability by calling 1-888-265-0464. No questions will be taken by phone during the media availability.

      Craig,

      Minister Strahl is getting much more at ease with CWB issues... a good majority of growers there at the news conference were choice supporters.

      It is clear most grain growers who are "single desk" supporters, if they were objective, would admit they don't make their living from growing and marketing their barley through the CWB!

      If we can't get marketing choice for barley... it is proof this issue has nothing to do with practical economics...
      It will be further proof that we would rather take a neighbours grain... and pound that person down... than to go out and do a decent days work and be responsible members of society pulling our own share of the weight.!.
