A few days ago I watched a YouTube video of a recent presentation by Will Happer. WOW. What a performance by a man in his mid 80's. He puts forward a comprehensive scientific analysis of CO2's effect on the earth's climate and flora. The video is about an hour long and very detailed in spots but also very compelling. I highly recommend it to everyone interested in the science behind climate policy. The version I watched was on a fellow named Tom Nelson's channel but there are other hosts. I hope the moderators recognize the relevance this presentation has to commodity marketing.

" Global warmers and CO2"
"A recent study with enhanced atmospheric CO2 in rice plots has pointed out that the higher CO2 led to reductions in protein and things like iron and zinc. The study did not mention the large yield increase — it’s all about picking bad news.
Really, folks should realize that nutrient balance is important. If we juice up the yield with more CO2 and do not add more N then of course the protein will go down. The same thing happens when we irrigate. Can anyone imagine feeding the hungry world without irrigation in dry areas?
It seems that it is the flavor of the day to treat our biggest plant nutrient as an enemy. Our food production relies on CO2."?

I see the flat earth climate change deniers are busy again!
You still don't accept that rising CO2 levels are causing global temperatures to rise?
You might as well join Big Lentils flat earth club if you are going to ignore the overwhelming scientific evidence!

Anyone who thinks that CO2 emissions are pollution is anti life. Same as the net zero crowd.Last edited by Happytrails; Nov 8, 2023, 09:35.

Lots of blah, blah. For one thing plants don't accumulate carbohydrates they manufacture them. That is why there is life on earth. Also everybody knows that a drought stressed wheat crop has lower yield and higher protein but the better crop will produce more total protein.Last edited by Happytrails; Dec 3, 2023, 19:29.

Empty calories are why the first world is chronically obese.
Nutrition in part is content of major and trace minerals. In general terms plants supply vitamins whereas meats supply more minerals. The problem with CO 2 fertilisation and excess N to boost yields results in dilution of true nutrition.

It's a type of Pigouvian tax like taxing tobacco or sugary drinks. Purpose is clear to those that understand

There is some doubt that the authorities fully understand the consequences.
Lots of backsliding going on.
They are loosing the faith.
