It's a type of Pigouvian tax like taxing tobacco or sugary drinks. Purpose is clear to those that understand

There is some doubt that the authorities fully understand the consequences.

        Lots of backsliding going on.

        They are loosing the faith.

Nitrogen producers are inevitably going to try partner with their customers to harvest carbon credits to greenwash the CO2 emitted by their production plants and Phosphate mining.

Like all these programs it will come down to cost/benefits for the hassle.
Wouldn't get into any long term contracts as demand should increase as all Ag suppliers are going to have to buy credits to greenwash somewhere.

I'll look into it. Easy money. Half will go to the agronomist for the effort.

Can’t hear much from the climate talks in Dubai. I suspect things are not going well for the Climate Crackpots.

Expect to hear that they are talking about how to reduce emissions from that evil agriculture at COP 28 in Dubai.
Not popular among elected politicians as they know there is no appetite for that with voters.
All of the goals can't be met without some sacrifices.
Europe will show us the way and then import product from somewhere that doesn't care.
The Honorable Steven Guilbeault will be there representing Canadians.
No doubt he will be trying to be first in line to sign on.

If activists cared about nutrition, Golden Rice would've been approved long ago.
