Snappy if you dont know the direction of the oil market you really should let someone else sell your grain for you.

Cotten, the CWB either doesn’t know the value of barley, or, they overcontracted when the price was low. So using the logic you dispensed to snappy, the CWB shouldn’t be marketing barley?
      Just asking.

Cp, you are a unrealistic trader. I do know the way of oil. But I also look at scenarios that can possibly alter my plan. And in the oil market there are alot of variables.

As I'm am very optimistic on all the grain markets, you are a man who likes to boast about himself way to much. In a recent thread you talked about Canola by Summer hitting $15.00/bus. You my friend are out to lunch.

Farmranger, I agree 100% with your proposal. CWB supporters sign contracts with the Board, and I will gladly stay away.

Another note to all Single Desk supporters. I wonder at all of you, how many of you sell your feed barley to the CWB, or how many pursue the open market?? I know the answer, the CWB rarley offers a premium to the opemn market.

FarmRanger, I think that is one of the best ideas I've heard yet. No in between. You want the CWB stay with them, feed barley and all. And I'll stay out no returns for either.

          Well Done!

Thanks snappy. The trouble with “feed barley and all” is that its likely that no-one would contract with the CWB within 200 miles of feedlot alley. It wouldn’t be worth the risk of getting the lower board feed price as I don’t always get malt quality barley. The price differential is too large between board feed barley and feedlot alley prices when we fail to achieve the “malt premium quality”.

I would prefer that a dual market had a CWB malt barley contract separate from feed barley. If the CWB can’t even get a malt premium to feed, then a farmer shouldn’t be forced to sell to them, period. A lower malt to feed price should be a definite failing grade on the ol’ performance evaluation?

              Snap,
So yesterday when you said "i new about the bull a year ago but didnt post"-does that make you a coward or a liar.

Then in all your wisdom you post"if oil keeps dropping like it is"-which is a very ignorant statement because oil has been FLYING upward the past 10 trading days touching 60 dollars a barrel. But you must have made a typo because you"follow these things".

Take your nose out of that dead horses ass you call the cwb and pay more attention to global issues. Then maybe we can have a two way debate on more relevant topics that effect the price of barley.(i hope your paying attention farmranger)

Yup, paying attention, but I fail to see the productivity of flaming farmers with opinions that differ from my own.

FarmRanger: I think that your plan (expressed up above) has merit. I have maintained that there could be an "opt out" provision to keep the jackrabbit speculators out (for at least 5 years), and let the rest of us wishing to use the CWB avail ourselves of their services.

This is a somewhat different "dual market" scenario where speculators couldn't skew/screw things up through manipulation.

The "all or nothin'" spproach is certainly counter-productive and divisive. Farmers should be working together rather than each others throats.

Cp, no I'm am not a coward or a liar. I don't need the sarcasm. That's why I don't post about market signals.

As far as paying attention to global issues. I do my share don't worry. I think sometimes you feel threatned that you're not the top dog in town.
