Very busy week hauling grain only 7 bags left and wheat is going up everyday.

Canola bounced back yesterday nice and up overnight.

Another Great week in Ottawa, senators screw Canadian farmers. It’s a good thing Justin stacked the deck a week ago.

Manhattan Cocktail

Ingredients

• 2 fluid ounces rye whiskey
• ½ fluid ounce sweet vermouth
• 1 dash Angostura bitters
• 1 cup ice cubes
• 1 maraschino cherry

Directions

1. Gather all ingredients.

2. Combine whiskey, vermouth, and bitters in a cocktail mixing glass. Add ice and stir until chilled.

3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry

4. Enjoy.

Doepker is sold out until next fall. Toured factory in Annaheim last week. They pump out 9 steel and 5 aluminum trailers every week. I was impressed how much they do in a relatively small space.

Yes, we ordered an aluminum tridem trailer six weeks ago and we were told to expect delivery in June.. and hope that it arrives before harvest.

I do think soft commodity prices and interest rates are starting to affect some potential new purchases, however land rent, employee wages, parts still finding its way higher imo. I think a lot of people would be happy to see markets back to $16 canola and $10 wht.

What is the plan for the combine? Complete restoration, or clean it up and keep it in it's work clothes?

It is good to see some combines salvaged for posterity. I expect resorting one would be a massive job compared to a tractor?

They have new roller slide gates and fender posts are now bolted on instead of welded. Apparently both changes were made at the start of this year. I went electric anyway.

JD 55 was the first combine I drove open station not the fancy ones with cabs like my neighbors . Goggles and skidoo suit required when combining in October. likley x9 seat cost as much or more than whole 55

I think it’s parked along the carrot , north of town , needs a lotta work
