They have new roller slide gates and fender posts are now bolted on instead of welded. Apparently both changes were made at the start of this year. I went electric anyway.

JD 55 was the first combine I drove open station not the fancy ones with cabs like my neighbors . Goggles and skidoo suit required when combining in October. likley x9 seat cost as much or more than whole 55

It was in a shed up till a few years ago when they needed space harvested some straw each year for square bales

I hope it isn't the same 55 that ended up at my neighbor's farm. When he moved to town, They dug a hole pushed it in with a bunch of other machinery, burnt whatever would burn smashed it down and buried it all. About 25 years ago, but I think I can remember the spot if you want to check it out.

I wonder why combine manufacturers don't have the unload bottom augers in the hopper moving grain to the back with the swing out auger in the center, allowing both left and right side grain unloading. There are times when this feature would be used.

The Versatile 2000 pulltype could unload on either side. The auger pivot was at the back of the hopper and hung over the front of the combine when not in use.

The big white and versatile would of been great had they used better parts to build them.

Is your 95 combine a hydro or a diesel? I don't know much about John Deere combines but i think the 105's had both available. your 95 looks like a late model with square back and quik attach header.
