    World shipping problem

Lots of big companies canceling shipping in Red Sea. Maersk laying off lots of employees. Is it going to make certain things expensive and others cheap?

I guess if people don't want to eat grains they can eat the other things.

cc. needs to use his influence with the Houti.

Burning thru an extra 10 to 14 days of ship fuel to go around the danger zone, can't be good for the climate.

The claim is out there that there are more new and old ships than there is cargo, so plenty of competition. Going the long route will not put a strain on the system. It will hurt Egypt on their fee gathering thru the canal. Perhaps Egypt could trump them after cc. fails to persuade them that they are harming the planet.

Shouldn't be so hard on cc. Although not an excuse, he's never been hungry.

So does this mean the 2 most economically important canals are both operating at greatly reduced volume and the bearish tone to the commodity markets sees no significant issue?

Also on the horizon is a Russian breakthrough in Ukraine as most supporters have grown war weary and Ukraine can not sustain a long term conflict.

DYOD on any opinions on Ukraine as personally that one defies logic.

And guess which country can export from their West Coast directly to Asia without passing through either canal or any war zones? And will have a big advantage in freight costs.

Looking like Russia will get a W for this one. When they roll west further enveloping their old ussr stomping grounds it will be too late. There’s a reason Poland and Germany got off their pockets earlier in this war and started rearming because of the inevitable. Then the Putin apologists will look like the fools they are for believing his tripe.

                  Reuters

                  Egypt
's Suez Canal Authority has seen revenues reach a record $9.4 billion in the current financial year.

Egypt is the main broker to bring a peaceful resolution between Hamas and Israel.

Iran (Houthi Militant) knows this and therefore are raising shit in the Red Sea.

It will be very difficult for Egypt to concentrate on the war in Gaza when they are losing 10's of millions of dollars daily from shipping disruptions in the Suez.

Definitely an awkward situation for Egypt.
my guess is the Houti militants will get punished harshly very soon and that choke point will be cleared of those terrorists
