With the current ideologically bent government. No farmer organization is going to be effective.

A large group of farmers and tractors blockading major infrastructure would however get their attention in a hurry.

We are losing because of petty jealousy of each other , and worried that the neighbours have diesel trucks that idle in Tim Hortons drive throughs and farm 20 ac more . Sad but true .

Agree with most...but "climate change" is a hoax, created to instill fear and increase and collect more taxes...aka $$$ grab...And carbon dioxide is not pollution, it sustains all life as we know it...thus reducing carbon dioxide emissions falls into the same category as climate change...Create fear and grab the cash!

And no doubt you are going to deny that last years droughts and record forest fires, along with the hottest year since the 1850s are anything to worry about?

All this, but farmers are happy to point out the benefits of direct seeding in capturing carbon, but dismiss any attempt to voluntarily reduce emissions from fertilizer?

Just think about the consequences of more or less permanent warmed oceans like El Nino will affect your weather and climate.

Farmers across the prairies are already very worried about a shortage of water and extremely dry soils coming out of 2023.

Maybe its time to connect the dots and realize that a warmer dryer winter is nice but a hotter dryer growing season because of climate change is not so great.

I think if there was a realistic study done on agriculture over the past 40 years , many farmers would be on the same page. Governments encourage divisiveness , it makes their job easier to do nothing or even acknowledging the improvements that have been made without government help.

Imagine if all these battery plants popped up without government support. Essentially that is what farmers have done over the past 40 years. Except the investment have been done by farmers themselves.

While I read most of the comments , everyone has an opinion , not all right , not all wrong.

The problem is finding the consensus amongst us all to find the path forward that benefits all.

Now we have large farmers going over to COP28 speaking about our great farming practices. What happened to the discussions years ago at farm groups AGMs where the same thing was said. They didn't use their voice. The studies have been done by Sask soils conservation assoc. and yet that fell on deaf ears within government.
